| Loading your new patterns into the WK series keyboard | ||
| By Jim Wintringham Here are some tips on loading rhythms, there are questions/answers mixed in the text: You need the manual... a separate download: http://music.casio.com/e/data_ex2/before.html#software2 The manual is under the heading 'version 2 manual' Basically, the Casio Data management software is a 4 part program. there are 3 boxes in the upper left display (under the file pull down) 1. The first box accesses the 'parameter editor' which is a way to tweak sounds and effects 'live' to the Casio (using midi cables). 2.The second box is where the 'action is' as far as the conversion process is concerned. This is where you convert midis to rhythms, take existing rhythms. turn them into midis.. tweak them, and re-convert them. 3.The 3rd part is the wave tone editor...where you build a user 'tone with wave' from wave files. 4. The main screen (that comes up when you start the program...using the display screen of 1024 x 768...at least) has a left side (your computer folder...selected under 'file/preference/directory)...and a right side (the Casio Keyboard, SmartMedia, or disk). Use the 'file type' window ..to choose the type of file to select from. Highlight the left side file you want to load...and if you load directly to the Casio...the Casio memory slot you are loading to. Midi files don't have memory assignments...they are just loaded in and will display it the order they are loaded. After you get the manual...look thru it...and I will attempt to help you with specific problems ..as you encounter them. There is so much to say...that I would be writing a manual to try and explain it in a 'step by step' method.[ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question: When playing the
Yamaha the style extension is .STY in the Casio is it .CFK? I have
downloaded Rhythms from the Casio site and loaded them into my smartcard,
that's as far as I've got. So if you could be kind enough to tell me what to
do next, I'd be very grateful. Thank you for your time.
